You are not alone! Administrators and parents often contact us when their approaches are not working…and they want help. We can help.

What is included:

• One-hour consultation via Zoom (as scheduled with the teacher, administrator, or school team).
• A review of emails, school notes, or other information that can be shared (without identifying information).
• A follow-up email reviewing the ideas discussed, strategies and language that might be helpful, and applicable resources.

Description of Zoom consultation with Dr. Anne Townsend and/or Jenny Barrett:

Share specific challenges that you are experiencing. We will talk through the challenge and help frame it in a way that can lead to a new approach. When a teacher feels stuck, understanding the behavior's root cause can guide our approach.

For example, when a child throws things or runs out of the classroom, the school may have tried many things, including additional supports, incentives, consequences, behavior charts, and even lowering classroom expectations or reaching out to parents. And yet, many find that the behaviors do not improve or worsen. When we talk through this challenge, we can help identify signs of stress, what that looks like in the classroom, and its impact on the child. We can also help identify specific skills the child needs to manage classroom expectations better. We can also share research and adult behaviors that may be helpful in those situations. And we give you the words, too. Through this process, the adult can gain a new approach to the problem that is more effective and sustainable

Zoom consultation - $200:

• 1 hour consultation via Zoom 
• Pre or post-meeting review of supporting information (school notes, email, video.)
• Email follow-up includes recommended language, strategies, and any additional resources.

Classroom coaching with Dr. Anne Townsend and/or Jenny Barrett:

In some cases, you may benefit from a coach coming into the classroom to observe interactions between teachers and children or between students and offer coaching. We can model interactions discussed to make the skills taught more salient.

For example, a teacher may have taken a Mariposa course and understand our method or just be learning about it. However, in practice with multiple children, it is hard. When a coach comes in to be with your students, they can model the approach. Seeing how it's worded and how the children respond often brings to life concepts and ideas that can help the teacher use the tools and be more successful. Often, the coach, without the burden of running the classroom, can identify the child's specific needs and what might be at play leading to the child’s challenging behaviors.

What is included:

• A conversation before the classroom visit via Zoom.
• A full hour of interaction in the classroom with modeling or coaching.
• An option to record (if you have parental permission).
• A follow-up email with notes and suggestions. 
• An hour on Zoom for discussion to debrief so that the teacher and/or administrator can talk through what happened, share any questions or concerns, and receive feedback from the coach.
• An option to include multiple team members. 

In-person classroom consultation - $350:

• Pre-visit conversation via Zoom 
• One hour of interaction in the classroom with modeling or coaching.

• A follow-up email with a recap, notes, recommendations, and resources.

• Zoom discussion to debrief with staff
• Discuss what happened, answer questions, address concerns, and offer parent feedback.
