Mariposa Education is a non-profit based in Baltimore, MD dedicated to social-emotional learning (SEL) training for teachers and parents based on our proprietary Mariposa Method, which we believe to be the most effective SEL training available today. Mariposa Education provides virtual and in-person courses for individuals and organizations, as well as 1:1 consulting and coaching.

Most of our courses do not require any prerequisites; if they do, it’s noted in the description. Therefore, we recommend browsing the full menu of hybrid and self-paced courses to choose a course that meets your school community's needs, interests, and time constraints.  You can also reach out with an inquiry and talk to us about your school to discuss a more unique or tailored approach. This 3-hour credited course is offered as a fully self-paced option or as a hybrid course. 

Yes, most of our courses provide Maryland State Department of Education Core of Knowledge clock hours or, in some cases, CPD credits. In addition, we are TAP-approved trainers for the Office of the State Superintendent in Washington, D.C. As partners of Loyola University of Maryland, certificates may also be accepted in other states, and we encourage you to check with your local Department of Education requirements for training.

Mariposa is a non-profit organization founded by Dr. Anne Townsend. Our proprietary method is delivered to educators, parents, administrators, and counselors through graduate courses, coaching, consultations, and programs for parents and teachers. Most of our courses are approved for credits by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) and the District of Columbia Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE). Additionally, we are partners with Loyola University Maryland, an accredited university.
